Consultant Psychiatrist

Dr Nadeem is the Consultant Psychiatrist at Radiant. After training at Royal Edinburgh Hospital and obtaining the prestigious membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, London, UK, he became a Consultant Psychiatrist at St John’s Hospital, Livingston, Scotland. He then worked briefly in a similar position at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee.

He has wide experience in dealing with psychiatric and mental health issues. He carried out original research in the field of Schizophrenia, and worked as Honorary Lecturer in Clinical Psychiatry at the Division of Psychiatry, University of Edinburgh, and actively participated in service redesign of Psychiatric Rehabilitation services in Livingston.

He has special interest in Evidence based medicine, Psychopharmacology and use of technology in healthcare services. He chaired the Mental Health Informatics Special Interest Group of the Royal College of Psychiatrists for three years. He has given lectures and conducted workshops in UK, India and Kuwait on various psychiatric topics. Dr Nadeem returned to Hyderabad in late 2010 and helped establish Oxygen Medicare Group as a Director. He then established the Oxygen Institute of Psychiatry, which carved out a name for itself in provision of quality psychiatric and drug rehabilitation services within a short span of 18 months. This centre was recently re-branded as Radiant. He holds the cause of psycho-education (especially in the area of Drug and Alcohol addiction) close to his heart, and gives informational and educational lectures at various schools, colleges, Business Schools and IT and Govt. organisations. He contributes to various newspapers and has appeared on TV health shows. He was recently awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in London, recognising his services to the field of Psychiatry in India.

Dr Fatima Waliulla Nadeem, MBBS (Osm), DCCH (Edin), DCH (Lon)

Head of the Division of Behavioural and Neurodevelopment Paediatrics

Dr Fatima Nadeem heads the Radiant Spark – a soon to be established special school and Day Centre for children with mental handicap. She is a UK trained Paediatrician, and is an Associate Member of The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. She has immense and wide ranging experience in General as well as Community Paediatrics, having worked at Southern General Hospital, Glasgow; Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Edinburgh and St John’s Hospital, Livingston, Scotland for a number of years.

She has sat on Children’s Panel in Scotland and participated in several Children’s Reporter hearings. She ran Neuro-developmental clinics, Child Behaviour clinics and ADHD/Autistic Spectrum clinics in several schools in West Lothian, Scotland. She has actively participated and contributed to service development of community Paediatrics. Currently she sits on the management board of Azra Public School, Mehdipatnam, Hyderabad, and advises the school on behavioural, emotional and scholastic problems among school children and offers consultations with children, teachers and parents.

Clinical Director and Consultant Psychiatrist

Dr Rajni Gupta has been with Radiant from its very beginning. She completed her medical studies from Mumbai in 1995, moved to Hyderabad in 1996 and worked with rehabilitating individuals dependent on alcohol and drugs out of curiosity, which motivated her to complete credit hours in addiction counselling (DLCAS)from IC & RC. Later on she completed her Diploma in Psychological Medicine  and has been actively treating and rehabilitating not only patients suffering from mental/psychological illness but also does a lot of work with their families.

Her main areas of interest are treating alcohol, drugs , tobacco, Internet addiction. She also specialises in managing anxiety and mild to moderate depression by teaching the patients coping skills with the help of psychotherapy (CBT, REBT and IPT) along with psycho-pharmacological interventions.

Dr Gupta enjoys interacting with groups from various walks of life and creating awareness about mental illness and work towards eradication of the stigma around it. Children and adolescents behavioural issues are addressed by conducting individual and family therapy sessions designed by her.

General Manager

Mazhar is our General Manager. A management post graduate, he has wide marketing and business skills gained from a long stint in the auto industry. He looks after the general operations including HR and business development at Radiant and makes sure all systems run smoothly. His effervescent and courteous manner is bound to please anybody who meets him and he is very sympathetic towards patients and family problems and their health needs.

Charge Nurse, Nurse Therapist & Training Co-ordinator

Swetha is our Charge Nurse and Nurse Therapist. She is a multi faceted person with a wide experience of work as a Staff Nurse at various hospitals in AP/Telangana. She is unassuming, yet firm and an able administrator. She has a keen eye for detail and works with dedication.

She is very understanding of patient problems and empathic towards them. Her reassuring, and gentle mannered demeanour helps in maintaining discipline at Radiant. She co-ordinates and manages the teaching programme for Nurse trainees and Psychology Interns.

Tahera Ilyas, MSc (Psychology)

Counselling Psychologist

Tahera holds a Bachelors in Psychology and is currently pursuing Masters In counselling Psychology. Her expertise lies in handling patients with mental health illness in group and individual basis, due to her experience in Rehab and Psychotherapy.

She also helps in teaching patients to deal themselves using various techniques like CBT, Art therapy, Mindfulness, etc., with a focus on recovery, self actualisation and rehabilitation.
